Here we go again

So sorry that my posting has been so sporadic/non-existent yet again. I recently started a new job that has been taking up a lot of time as I try to settle into a new routine. I’m also moving out of my apartment and maybe my parents are moving so I have to take care of stuff back there…

… a lot is going on. What’s new? And who isn’t busy, right?

I have been sneaking in time to draft a few posts, so I’m really hoping I can find a routine that includes time for this blog by the time June rolls around.

What do you mean it’s June in a few days? WELL THEN, I hope I have some posts ready for you all by then. I will try to get back on the Tuesday/Friday update schedule in June.

Coming soon will be:

  • Florida recap posts (I have to finish uploading and editing photos from that trip)
  • More Eat DC posts (that I wasn’t able to finish before Karen & Christine visited)
  • EUROPE RECAPS I SWEAR I will not allow myself to die before these are done
  • Much, much more

I have so many drafts right now, I just need to buckle down, polish them up, take care of photos (easily the most dreaded part of the process for me), and hit “Publish”. Because, at the end of the day, I blog because I do enjoy doing it a lot. I have for over a decade now and I like to share my life and thoughts here whether you want to hear it or not.

Please excuse the dust

Things are going to be shifting around a lot around these parts. I’m going to start a big housekeeping project on the blog that will include some host shifting (if things go as planned…..) and also other personal projects that will be taking up some time.

BUT.

I hope when the dust settles, everything looks nice. In the meantime, please don’t be alarmed if you are having trouble with sipofstarrshine.com. When in doubt, go back to sipofstarrshine.wordpress.com and that should still be working fine.

Thanks for your patience and wish me luck! (I’m not good at website things…)

Off to Spring Break!

Surprise! This is the first year I’m doing a more conventional spring break in that I’m going to a warm location. Yelp is having their annual spring break in Fort Lauderdale this year, and while I was originally not that interested in going, that changed when my friends dangled Disney World in front of me.

WALT. DISNEY. WORLD.

I am leaving tonight and, as a result, will not have posts for BEDA while I am away. (Unless I prepared some in advance…?) BUT you will have some spring break recap posts to look forward to. (They’ll come before those Europe posts that I keep putting off…)

Even though it feels like an odd time to take a break like this, I think I need it. Like I said in an earlier post, it’s important to give myself things to work for. Also, something something fitness motivation something swimsuit body? I don’t know. Maybe I’ll exercise more before I have to hit the beach and maybe I won’t or maybe I won’t go the beach at all.

I haven’t been to Disney World since 2009 and my Disney obsession has since bloomed into something that makes me worry I will spend my day there just crying because feelz.

Let me know what is new or what are the must-see attractions at Disney, Fort Lauderdale, and Key West! I definitely want to know what are some must-eat treats while I’m down there!

SCK Adventures: Sun’s Out, Fun’s Out? (Day 3)

(Day 1 | Day 2)

When the weekend rolled in, we also got: (1) nicer weather and (2) HELLA tourists. Since Christine and Karen had basically been scarred by the crowds at the Air & Space Museum, we kept it low-key and opted to not actually visit the Cherry Blossom Festival during peak.

TL;DR Taipei in Maryland, sweets tour of Georgetown, speakeasy uneasiness, AYCE KBBQ & shabu

(Also, I don’t have many photos from Saturday, so sorry!)

BEDA 2015

How did this day come so soon?

BEDA 2015

It is time for Blog Every Day April here on sipofstarrshine.com. I have been attempting to BEDA for a while now here and on my old blogs and am never successful in achieving 30 posts in 30 consecutive days.

I don’t know if this is the year that changes, but I’ll never know if I don’t try!

With that being said, I am trying to have some drafts ready to publish for days that I know I will not have content ready. April is always one of the busiest months of my year and this year is no exception. Even though I am trying to plan ahead for those days, I still get this feeling I’m going to fall off the wagon. My weekends usually suffer the most here, so please do not be alarmed if you don’t see a post during those days.

But no more talk of failure! Forget these wide-eyed fears. I’m here; nothing will harm you. My words will warm and calm you. (PotO fans?)

Will you join in BEDA? (Who will be strong and stand with me?(Really on that musical theater kick, apparently.)
Any suggestions for posts I can do during BEDA? (Besides Europe recaps :P)
