Here we go again

So sorry that my posting has been so sporadic/non-existent yet again. I recently started a new job that has been taking up a lot of time as I try to settle into a new routine. I’m also moving out of my apartment and maybe my parents are moving so I have to take care of stuff back there…

… a lot is going on. What’s new? And who isn’t busy, right?

I have been sneaking in time to draft a few posts, so I’m really hoping I can find a routine that includes time for this blog by the time June rolls around.

What do you mean it’s June in a few days? WELL THEN, I hope I have some posts ready for you all by then. I will try to get back on the Tuesday/Friday update schedule in June.

Coming soon will be:

  • Florida recap posts (I have to finish uploading and editing photos from that trip)
  • More Eat DC posts (that I wasn’t able to finish before Karen & Christine visited)
  • EUROPE RECAPS I SWEAR I will not allow myself to die before these are done
  • Much, much more

I have so many drafts right now, I just need to buckle down, polish them up, take care of photos (easily the most dreaded part of the process for me), and hit “Publish”. Because, at the end of the day, I blog because I do enjoy doing it a lot. I have for over a decade now and I like to share my life and thoughts here whether you want to hear it or not.

Hopefully returning?

If I plan things out correctly, I should be able to resume blogging in about 2 weeks. I also hope I have internet at my new place by then so that I don’t have to camp out at a coffeeshop.

(It’s not that I mind camping out in coffeeshops, but I feel so guilty if I don’t buy anything after a few hours. The problem isn’t that I don’t like supporting coffeeshops, it’s more that I get suckered into buying something I don’t really like/need, like a fancy $5 latte. I don’t drink coffee, so you can see how I am never ecstatic about purchases like these.)

ANYWAY. Lots of things I want to share with you all, from my recent New York trip allllllllllllllllllllllllllllll the way back to my Europe trip, from which I marked the one-year anniversary of returning a few days ago.

😀 Excited to share all these things with you really soon!

Checking In!

Hi all!

I really miss blogging, so I thought I’d sneak a few minutes at work to say hello! I have lots of things I want to tell you about, but work has been really busy and I need to get furniture for my new apartment so that I don’t have to sleep on the floor in my sleeping bag anymore ^^;;

Things I will be posting about when I can:

  • The rest of my Alaska trip
  • The rest of my Europe trip I swear to cake (I know it’s been nearly a year since I left for Europe but THE REST OF THE POSTS WILL COME)
  • A new apartment tour if I don’t put off setting up / don’t make it a mess immediately
  • Dedication post to my favorite past time: karaoke
  • Maybe some movie reviews, even though it’s pretty late to be posting them up now (drafts I have include the latest X-Men movie and The Fault in Our Stars)
  • Maybe book reviews
  • My adventure making flower crowns
  • And more!

Let me know if there is anything you’d like to hear about and I’ll try to include that, too! There are a lot of transitions going on with work and my apartment, so I’m hoping I can resume regular posting and maybe even follow a schedule once the dust settles in my life.

Domain Obtained!

A wise woman once told me:

Boys will come and go, but blogs are forever.

I didn’t need much more persuasion after that! I decided that one of my first new paycheck gifts to myself would be purchasing a domain name for this little blog where I’ve made my home. I’ve been blogging since 2001 but having my own domain name has only been an idea for a few years. I was nervous because I change my online username about once every 5 years.

Basically, when it comes to blogging, I’m afraid of commitment. What if I get sick of being sipofstarrshine in a year? In a month? A week? A day? What if I’m sick of it now?

Oh well. If that time comes, I’ll deal with it then. But for now, I have a shiny new domain name, whoo!

It took a while for me to actually sit down and purchase it. I don’t know, I wanted to have a special occasion for it, like how I want to have a good day to start my new diaries on. (Usually birthdays, calendar years, big holidays, school years…)

… I guess Revenge of the Fifth is a good enough non-reason as any! (I had a great May the Fourth post ready but didn’t get it out in time. Next year!)

Shoutout to Christine & Karen for being super supportive of me and this big-kid step!
