Draft Graveyard (i)

During my first ever FaceTime (what is this Apple technology??) session with Christine last night, we realized that not only do I have an obnoxious number of drafts, but I should probably get rid of a lot of them because they are just dead weight. They consist of nothing more than a title, most of the time, and have since become un-timely to post ever. Christine thought it’d be funny for me to share a few of these draft titles before I trash them forever, so here we go!

Draft Graveyard

(no title) – This post was going to be about chain restaurant desserts that I actually really love? I don’t know why there’s no title, but I do vaguely remember feeling very strongly about certain hidden gems at unlikely chain restaurants and needing to tell the world about them. I even had a few pictuers here, but I guess I stopped because I only felt strongly about 2 desserts in particular… Let me know if you’d still like to see this someday!

(no title) – Another untitled post! This one has nothing but a URL to this Youtube video, which I still like a lot and still think carries a strong message

I don’t know about you – “… but I’m 23, it’s true!” Evidently, I was going to write a little birthday reflection post when I turned 23. There were a few thoughts about how I still felt like I was either 19 or 22, two kind of in-between ages that seemed to just apply to the rest of the in-between ages I would experience. WHOOPS, too late for that now.

Leaving the Nest – An empty draft that, as far as I remember, was going to be about me moving out post-college into my own apartment? Maybe? But that was years ago and, to be honest, I sometimes feel like I didn’t fly very far from the nest at all.

Marriage Equality, Patriotism, and Tiger Mothers – There is one sentence in this draft about how glad I am that “SCOTUS” is part of our vernacular. I think this was going to be a ramble about the SCOTUS decision about DOMA and about Amy Chua and something about feeling American when my American-ness was very often scrutinized… but that was a very current events-tied post that is no longer current.

“Social Attitude Test” – The results of one of those quizzes that is meant to determine your political leanings? My results were:

Radicalism: 85.75
Socialism: 31.25
Tenderness: 68.75

These scores indicate that you are a tender-minded progressive; this is the political profile one might associate with an animal rights activist. It appears that you are moderate towards religion, and have a balanced attitude towards humanity in general.

Your attitudes towards economics appear capitalist, and combined with your social attitudes this creates the picture of someone who would generally be described as libertarian.

To round out the picture you appear to be, political preference aside, an idealist with few strong opinions.

The Grandmaster (2013) – I have an empty draft that was going to be a movie review for this movie that, it would appear, never got written at all. There isn’t even a movie poster image or a trailer link in sight. Tsk tsk. But I did have the sense to at least put it in the “Movies” category. (The movie was pretty good, though.)

Embarassingly Embarrassed – This was literally a post about how embarrassed I get by how embarrassed I get… usually by me just being very emotional. It came on the heels of my coworkers catching me crying at my desk, not because of how stressful work was (which it was) but because I was so moved by listening to music or watching a video. Oy. One of the videos was mostly embarrassing also because this Soviet flag would be plastered on my computer screen while I listened to Russian folk music. (Yeah, I know that was a weird sentence to read.)

Wow, that’s 8 posts that I can move out of my “Drafts” list and into the trash, but there are still so many, many more of these drafts that will never get published. I guess that’ll be a post for another time!

Would you have read any of these?
Are there posts you’re waiting on that are likely buried in my drafts somewhere?
